ABOUT THE FOUNDER
One way I see my vocation is as connecting people from different places of society and lived experiences to be transformed by each other. More specifically, I bring together people with different backgrounds (e.g. race, class, education, immigration status) in meaningful ways, and be there for one another.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SHEPARD
Hi I am Francesca, this is my first year working with TTT so far it has been fantastic! I am in my last semester at Harvard Divinity School, getting my Masters of Divinity. I understand my ministry through the phrase, “Isten Hozzot” which means “Welcome’ in Hungarian, but it literally translates to “God brought you here.”
I believe I have been brought to my colleague and mentor Nestor Pimienta because I saw the depth of his friendships with many of the workers who invite him into their homes. I also saw first hand how deep the connections are between people who have been a part of TTT. The relationships I saw were based on genuine connections linked by mutual respect and love.
TTT has the power to create this kind of community. A community where Harvard students, workers, and workers kids can learn from each other, and in the process form deep bonds and life changing relationships. I feel very blessed to be a part of such a special organization filled with wonderful people. I am looking forward to where we will go with TTT next.
OUR WORK
ABOUT US
TTT connects Harvard students with workers and their families (and vice versa) in simple and deep ways. TTT brings students, workers, and their kids together at Harvard to learn from and with one another through tutoring, sharing meals, and sharing stories.
In TTT we seek not only two-way transformation, but profound transformation. The kind of transformation that has the potential to re-orient people’s lives and infuse them with new meaning. To say that we break barriers by breaking bread together is to also say that TTT tries to be a healing space.
A FEW WORDS FROM AN INVALUABLE TTT SUPPORTER
I think that TTT heals our divisions. Breaking bread together is one of the most ancient forms of community-building, and it is essential to the experience that TTT is trying to create—the bridges it is dedicated to building.
And the focus is on Tomorrow and Today, because what we do today—the love we express for each other through our work—creates the Tomorrow we will step into.
